먼저 Protopine, Cryptopine, dl-bicuculline, aldumine, fumaridine, fumarizine, spiroisoquinoline 및 d-hydrastine 등 주요 알칼로이드로 구성됐으며 아울러 parfumidine, parfumine, coptisine, tetrahydrocoptisine, fumariline, fumarilicine, narceimine, 8-methoxydihydrosanguinarine, oxysanguinarine, fumariflorine, lastourvilline, N-methyl corydaldine, oxycoptisne, raddeanine, N-methyl-hydrasteine, dehydrocheilanthifoline, narlumidine, papraine 및 paprazine 등의 알칼로이드들도 미량 함유돼 있다.(sener B 1988 Turkish species of Fumaria L. and their alkaloids. 한편, Tannins 와 fumaric acid 및 다양한 non-alkaloids 물질들, 예를 들어 nonacosanol 및 sitosterol, 19-methyloctacosanol, 3-methyloctacosanol 등이 함유돼 있어 눈길을 끈다. Octacosanol 물질은 이미 국내에서도 건강기능식품의 고시 품목 중 하나로 대사 증진 및 스태미너 향상, 지구력 향상등에 즐겨 사용되는 소재이다. 아유르베다 약용 소재 들 중에서 Octacosanol 이 가장 많이 함유되어 있는 소재 중 하나가 바로 푸마리아라고 보고돼 있다.
